On this page you will find a guide to The Dancers Journey here at Lanes Dance Academy, alongside individual progress trackers for each individual class to ensure your dancer is staying on track and how the move up to the next class after collecting all badges.
🌈 Mini Movers Badge Pathway
Age 3 settling in year badges will start to appear age 4 & 5
Yellow Badge – “Growing Up Star”
⭐ I am at least 5 years old and starting to be ready for the next step.
Green Badge – “Focused Dancer”
⭐ I can do a full Mini Movers class with my full attention.
Blue Badge – “Attendance Hero”
⭐ I come to class nearly every week and hardly ever miss.
Purple Badge – “Class Leader”
⭐ I’m towards the top of my class, and others look to me as an example.
Pink Badge – “Listening Champ”
⭐ I’m good at listening, following instructions, and staying on task.
Orange Badge – “Mature Mover”
⭐ I’m really growing up, don’t mess around, and would feel great dancing with 6–8 year olds.
Teal Badge – “Routine Rockstar”
⭐ I know what’s coming up next, can copy my teacher’s routines, and even remember a little by myself.
Red Badge – “Mini Stars Ready!”
🎉 Congratulations! You’ve completed all the milestones — you’re ready to move up to Mini Stars!
🌟 Mini Stars Badge Pathway
Age 5 settling in year badges will start to appear age 6 & 7
Yellow Badge – “7 & Shining”
⭐ I am at least 7 years old and starting to be ready for the next step.
Green Badge – “Focused Star”
⭐ I can do a full Mini Stars class with my full attention, and I answer questions correctly in class.
Blue Badge – “Attendance Hero”
⭐ I come to class nearly every week and hardly ever miss.
Purple Badge – “Class Role Model”
⭐ I’m towards the top of my class, and others look to me as an example.
5.Pink Badge – “First-Time Follower”
⭐ I’m great at listening and following instructions the first time I’m asked.
Orange Badge – “Mature Star”
⭐ I’m really growing up, don’t mess around, and would feel great working next to 8–12 year olds.
Teal Badge – “Routine Master”
⭐ I know what’s coming up next, can remember and perform my simple routines by myself, and I’m ready for harder work.
Red Badge – “Foundation Ready!”
🎉 Congratulations! You’ve completed all the milestones — you’re ready to move up to Foundation level classes!
💪 Foundation Badge Pathway
Badges in foundation can take a while to collect anything between 1 year to 3 years in the class is normal.
1. Yellow Badge – “Strong Starter”
⭐ I am at least 8 years old, but many dancers are older at this stage. Move ups are now based on skill and maturity, not age. Most dancers move to Elevated classes around age 10-12 — if it’s sooner, you’ve exceeded natural expectations.
2. Green Badge – “Independent Dancer”
⭐ I can perform all my routines in class without any teacher aid or copying the rest of the group.
3. Blue Badge – “Practice Pro”
⭐ It’s clear I practice at home and think about my dancing between lessons.
4. Purple Badge – “Technique Builder”
⭐ I have strong foundations like essential footwork, clean, strong arm and leg lines with good co ordination. I don’t need reminders about basics like timing or pointing my toes or the way certain steps need to be danced.
5. Pink Badge – “Attendance Hero”
⭐ I rarely miss class and show real commitment.
6. Orange Badge – “Role Model”
⭐ I’m towards the top of my class and others look to me as an example.
7. Teal Badge – “Focused & Mature”
⭐ I’m mature, listen well, don’t mess around, and push myself to improve each week. I can take onboard the teachers notes and have proved I can work on them over time. I would feel confident tackling a much harder level.
8. Red Badge – “Elevated Ready!”
🎉 Congratulations! You’ve completed all the milestones — you’re ready to move up to Elevated level classes!
🚀 Advanced Level Badge Pathway
1. Yellow Badge – “Rising Talent”
⭐ I am at least 10 years old, but many dancers are older at this stage. Move ups are now based on skill and maturity, not age. Dancers likely move to Top Level classes around age 12 and above, for some the elevated level will be more than enough as a maximum level — if it’s sooner than 12, you’ve exceeded natural expectations.
2. Green Badge – “Independent Performer”
⭐All my routines thrive without teacher aid, and it’s clear I’ve practised at home and worked on my notes since last lesson.
3. Blue Badge – “Style & Flair”
⭐ I have sound Elevated basics including correct use of foot, extension, elevation, body action, flexibility and strength. I perform and deliver consistently with extra style and flair.
4. Purple Badge – “Challenge Chaser”
⭐ I take on any challenge in class and work steadily on it over weeks until I achieve it.
5. Pink Badge – “Attendance Hero”
⭐ I show strong commitment with very high attendance.
6. Orange Badge – “Inspiration to Others”
⭐ I’m towards the top of my class, and others look to me as a role model and are inspired by the way I dance and work in class.
7. Teal Badge – “Mature & Motivated”
⭐ I’m mature, listen well, stay focused, and improve week after week. I’m ready for a much harder level.
8. Red Badge – “Top Level Ready!”
🎉 Congratulations! You’ve completed all the milestones — you’re ready to move up to Top Level classes!
